When you decide to have pet fish, you'll need an aquarium heater. Fish aren't really cold blooded like some people think; they just can't maintain their own body temperature. In their natural environment, water and sunlight provide the warmth they need.

Even if the room where you keep your aquarium is comfortably warm to you, the chances are good that it is too cold for your fish, especially since water is harder to heat than air. So for your aquarium, a heater will provide the heat your fish need to thrive.

Generally, your fish will be healthy and comfortable in water that is kept around 79 degrees Fahrenheit. You want to keep the water temperature as constant as possible. Fluctuating temperatures lead to stressed fish, and it isn't a big step from stressed fish to sick fish.

Getting The Right Size Heater

Aquarium heaters are rated by watts, for example 75 watts, 150 watts, etc. The rule of thumb is 5 times the number of gallons of water in the aquarium for proper heating. So for a 25 gallon aquarium, you will need 5 times 25, or a 125 watt heater. If your aquarium is big, two heaters may do a better job than one. In these cases, divide the total wattage you need in half, and buy two heaters of the resulting lower amount. For example, a 50 gallon aquarium needs 5 times 50 watts of heating, or a 250 watt heater. Instead of buying one 250 watt heater, you can use two 125 watt heaters.

The other thing that is good about having two heaters is that if one fails, the remaining heater will keep the water temperature fairly even until you can get another heater. This is really helpful when you have a lot of money invested in the fish (or other animals). In fact, if you have a lot of money invested in fish, it may be a good idea to have a back-up heater on hand just in case.

Speaking of heat, whatever kind of heater you use, you will want a separate thermometer to check the water temperature. This is your early warning system for a heater that is going bad or that something is happening in the tank that needs attention.

Now, on to the heaters.

Immersible Heaters

The most popular and least expensive type of heater is called a immersible heater. These are generally tube shaped, and made from glass, plastic, or aluminum. They have a control at the top for setting the temperature and usually have a built-in thermostat. They are positioned so that the top of the control of the heater is above the waterline while the cylindrical part that does the actual heating is under water. Placing these near the area where the water circulation begins or is strongest will help keep the proper temperature throughout your tank and avoid hot spots.

There are some versions of immersible heaters called submersible heaters. These can go entirely underwater. Submersible heaters are also effective and inexpensive. They are a little easier to camouflage if that is a big issue for you.

Other Heater Styles

There are two other styles of heaters that you may see online or in stores. They are the substrate heater and filter heater.

The substrate heater is installed below the substrate, that is the rock, gravel, or sand you are using in your aquarium. This kind of heater produces very even heating and plants love it. In fact, these are the most popular style heaters in Europe. The downside of these heaters is that if you have to repair or replace them, you're going to have to take your entire aquarium down to get to them. So this is a good choice for installation in an initial set-up, but a lot more cumbersome to install in a tank that is already up and running.

A filter heater is a special heating unit that is placed inside the filter itself, so that the water goes back into the tank warm and clean. These heaters aren't very common and can be expensive.

Whatever kind of heater you choose, keep these safety tips in mind.

- Heaters are electrical appliances and must be handled with proper care. Remember, electricity and water do not mix.
- When it is time to clean your tank, turn your heater off, unplug it and give it a minimum of 15 minutes to cool down. Heaters can crack if they experience a rapid change in temperature, which is what would happen if you lowered the water level while the heater was still hot, or took a hot heater out of the water.
- If a heater is designed to be under the water, make sure it stays under water by keeping your water level topped off.
- Never touch a hot heater.

Much has been said and written about insuring a successful job interview. Speaking as someone who coaches people for interview, a careful analysis reveals that there are three basic components to success. They are appearance, practice and preparation. No doubt you are saying to yourself that practice and preparation are the same thing but I will demonstrate to you that they are not.

Appearance is not often discussed but is crucial to your success. It makes little difference as to the organization you are visiting but a smart appearance makes an impression, it is often said that you never have a second chance to make a first impression and the first interview is no exception. Unless you have skills and knowledge that are not available anywhere else then you are in a competitive environment and you need to treat it that way. A man can always take off a tie if it is inappropriate but it is very difficult to put it on if you do not have one.

Practice relates getting ready to answer questions, understanding how interviews work and making sure that you are at the peak of your performance. At a minimum you are practicing your pitch and exit reason. The pitch is the answer to the question So tell me about yourself or other similar questions that are designed to see how you best fit the needs of the organization. Practice is the key to answering those interview questions accurately but without appearing rehearsed.

Preparation on the other hand relates to getting all the other pieces of information ready beforehand. A few examples of this are as follows: Research, make sure that you have completed an extensive search about the organization, it does not matter how high or low on the food chain you are remember you are interviewing them as much as they are interviewing you. Insure that you have a number of great questions to ask. Many states have access to free research services that can be accessed through the Internet and their Library systems. Make sure that you know where you are going and how long it will take you to get there, leave plenty of time so you will not be rushed. Bring cleanly printed copies of your resume to hand out; you cannot be sure how it has printed out from an emailed copy.

To summarize, there are many moving parts to a successful interview and with the appropriate actions you can stay in control. Your appearance speaks for you before you open your mouth, when you do open your mouth make sure that you can answer questions succinctly and accurately and finally being prepared in advance with information, great questions and having the logistics nailed down will all help to put you on the short list.

5 Minutes a Day to Build and See Your Six Pack Abs

Having a visual six pack mid section is the number one goal of almost everyone who works out and is the top indicator of a fit person. Having abs that ripple and show is not as hard or as complicated as some would have you think. It comes down to 3 simple steps that requires less than 5 minutes per day. Your mid section is comprised of basically two muscle groups, the external obliques and the rectus abdominis. The rectus abs are the "six pack" muscles and the obliques fill in between your abs and your back muscles. To have a visually appealing ab area you must train both muscle groups. The three largest mistakes people make are over training the abs, under training the obliques and using poor form. These muscle groups work in tandum and to get the most development they must be trained equally. Neither will develop fully with imbalanced training, a lot like bi's and tri's or quads and hamstrings.

The most important single aspect of effective abdominal training is good form. It's more important than the amount of weight used and harder to do with core work because they are not really large muscles, meaning they tire quickly, and for most people they aren't "visible" so you can't see them work as easily. Tired muscle overworked with poor form exercise, trains nothing.

The first step is to train the rectus abdominals. There are plenty of good ab exercises, but I use a cable machine and do Kneeling Cable Pull Downs. These are effectively crunches but done kneeling and pulling a cable down towards the floor. These are excellent because you can keep adjusting the weight, either up or down, to get the best full range of motion while allowing your form to stay good.

The second step is to again use a cable machine and do Woodchoppers. Place the cable high and assume a position that allows you to swing your torso around and down as if to swing an ax chopping wood. Again, using cables allows for correct weight choice.

For the above exercises you could do crunches and use a dumbbell for chops if a cable machine isn't available. Do an AVERAGE 30 good reps of abs, and on each side of obliques taking as many sets as you want every day, meaning today do 60 reps, tomorrow none, and so on. Or do 30 every day.

The third and final step is to get the abs to show. This requires you to, with all else in your life equal, burn an extra 300-500 calories a day. The easiest and fastest way to do this is to not eat it in the first place.

First, you have to assess your situation- i.e. current documentable work experience, products/applications you work with, educational background, your particular job market and what kind of connections you have already in IT positions. Here is a question to consider: Are the products and applications you are familiar with mainstream? Microsoft, UNIX, Cisco, Oracle, Adobe or are they Industry specific applications? What kind of education do you have? Have you been exposed to particular technologies? Do you have a good understanding of Networking, Scripting, or Querying? How are your people skills? In your job search, what skill sets have you found companies are looking for? What are the requirements? Experience level? Do they require Certifications?

Once you know where you are in the big scheme of things, you need to decide what fits your current situation. There are many facets to the cooking experience, preparing, cutting and handling tools and appliances require concentration...do not get distracted in the kitchen. Keep the work surfaces clean and free of debris. Get the ingredients for the meal ready ahead of time, put away ingredients not applicable. All utensils and cutting boards should be clean and sanitized before using.

Dry your hands before plugging, or unplugging kitchen appliances.
Do not keep electric appliances next to a water source.
Discard frayed cords.Never yank cords from plug.

Keep a fire extinguisher, designed for kitchen use, in an easily accessible place.

Make sure you know how to use it.

Do not use long cords, or plug too many appliances into one outlet

Keep children and pets out of the kitchen when cooking.

Turn all pot and/or pan handles in toward a wall.

Do not use same dish to carry raw and cooked food.

Never thaw food on kitchen counters, always in refrigerator.

Never leave cooked foods out of refrigeration for more than 2 hours, to be safe, use the one hour rule, this provides sufficient time for foods to cool before putting in refrigerator

Spring has sprung here in South Africa and my garden is bursting back into life. On a beautiful sunny day I decided to meet my daughter in the Botanical Gardens for the most pleasant of days browsing through trees and plants from all over the world in the most glorious of surroundings. Daughter of mine, being of artistic bent travels with pencil and sketchpad and had a ball sketching away at the interesting plant life.

Then at the weekend as fate would have it there was a HUGE Spring Flower Show at the local mall. That was just delightful - the funniest was a dog made of chrysanthemums but the best for me was a huge balancing floral interpretation of "Bold and Distinctive."What must have been very difficult and was done in such a masterly fashion was to interpret a painting in flowers! I really enjoyed seeing how this was done as usually we artists interpret nature not the other way round...

All in all now is a great time to do a spot of botanical art work, painting or sketching and South Africa has an abundance of fascinating plant life to inspire anyone from the finest of artists to those who enjoy more chunky palette knife work there is something there for all tastes. Vincent van Gogh summed it up very well with this advice "It is not the language of painters but the language of nature which one should listen to; the feeling for the things themselves - for reality - is more important than the feeling for pictures."

How many of you know someone (possibly yourself) who collects cookbooks? Now then, how many of you know someone who uses a cookbook, but never follows the recipe the same way twice? Cookbooks offer a wealth of information and possibilities. The individual recipe is not set in stone; it is a guideline to help get your creative juices going. Some recipes have a lot more flexibility than others. Sweet and sour pork for example; could just as easily become sweet and sour chicken, or sweet and sour beef. It's all just a matter of knowing what ingredients to put in, leave out, or substitute. Great photography is likewise a matter of knowing what to put in, leave out, or substitute.

Just for a visual example; let's say your main ingredients are: little girl, tricycle, sidewalk. If you include all these ingredients and you shoot your photo in one direction, you also see the street, the car, and the neighbors' house. So you decide to shoot from the opposite direction and you have a nice grassy yard with a sprinkler in the background. The background is much simpler, and it is a whole lot easier to move your sprinkler than the neighbor's house.Now it's a judgment call; and every great photo is, but from this angle the sidewalk doesn't really add anything to the image. The leading lines in this case, lead your eyes out of the image. So now you have two choices: A) leave out the distraction or B) substitute a different angle. You can leave it out simply by cropping tighter. You can substitute a different angle by getting in front of the little girl to have the leading lines work for you. If you choose "B" you may also want to play with selective focus to avoid some of the distractions you had in the first place.

Obviously some ingredients are unique to cooking; but when it comes to making a great photo, most have several ingredients in common.

A) Balance - - - This includes formal and informal balance, but also embraces concepts like the rule of thirds and leading lines. Basically put, where you place the subject, is at least as important as the subject itself.

B) Emotion - - - A photograph that does not evoke an emotion from the viewer has robbed the viewer. Your job is to tell a story, to keep the viewer interested. The easiest way to accomplish that is making photos with emotional impact.

C) Exposure - - - Exposure not only covers light and shadows, but the details within both. Reflective light, diffused light, and bounced light are only part of the options you want to consider here. Your choice of how you expose an image also affects other key elements like depth of field.

D) Dominance - - - In music there is a dominant beat or rhythm. In drama there is a dominant character. In photography if you do not have a dominant subject you only confuse the viewer. By far the easiest way to make anything dominant is to take out every thing else. Always look for ways to simplify your subject.

These ingredients combined with other artistic spices like framing, repetition, negative space, and texture, allow you to create a mouth watering feast of images for your viewer to eat right up. It's not quite as simple as adding a cup of this or a teaspoon of that; like most great cooks, you may have to experiment a little. Now that you know what you have to work with, you too can decide what to put in, what to leave out, or what to substitute.

Radiation therapy is another treatment option. Radiation therapy is administered as external beam radiotherapy to the pelvis and internally as brachytherapy. However, when dealing with cervical cancer, the biggest issue besides survival is the ability to have children in the future.

Wells found that gay men and lesbians talked with their intimate partners about sexual activity more often than did heterosexual men and women, and they were also significantly more likely to agree on which words are erotic - and to use them with a lover. Wells believes that heterosexual couples could enhance their sexual relationship by learning to share the language they consider erotic or arousing," said the editors of Medical Aspects of Human Sexuality.

How the Skin Ages

The skin is made up of three layers:

a) subcutaneous - where the fat is stored.

b) dermal - contains many structures including nerve cells, sweat glands, hair bulbs etc.

c) epidermal - where new skin cells (including pigmentation cells) are created and migrate through 5 layers until they are dead cells that provide us with the top layer of skin that we lose daily.

Although our skin ages all the time throughout our lives it only really begins to show the signs of aging when we reach our late 40's and most of the aging that our skin goes through takes place in the dermal layer. Below is a list of what is happening to each of us:

a) Collagen cells decrease or stiffen and break apart

b) Elastin - elastic fibers lose some of their elasticity, stiffen & fray. (this process is sped up in people who smoke)

c) Fibroblasts (the producers for collagen and elastin) decrease in number.

d) Sebaceous glands decrease in size - causing dry and broken skin.

e) Melanocytes (pigmentation cells)- are natural UVA & UVB protectors decrease in number resulting in grey hair and white blotches in the skin but they increase in size making the skin blotchy with large brown spots (these are known as liver spots).

f) Subcutaneous fat is lost making the skin look a lot thinner.

g) Basal cell migration (new skin cells) is slowed down.

So with all these changes going on to our skin how do our most popular anti-aging skin care products live up to their claims 'of reducing wrinkles and making skin look younger'.

Once this has been done, sugar levels in the blood get to be compared with the ones in the immediate previous blood sample that was taken.

For people without diabetes mellitus, the first sample of blood after taking the solution, will appear to have its blood glucose rise very sharply but as the doctor continues testing, the subsequent blood samples will appear to have their blood glucose levels also drop sharply until they return to normal levels. However, the same cannot be said for diabetic patients. Diabetes mellitus patients will in turn have the first blood test show that glucose content has rapidly shot up but unlike in people without this disease where the elevated blood glucose reduced rapidly in the subsequent tests, in diabetic people, the subsequent blood tests will show a slow drop of the glucose levels.

There are four main types of diabetes mellitus that exist today and Type I also known as Insulin-Dependent Diabetes mellitus is one of them. This condition often occurs in people who are below the age of 30 years and is usually caused by the auto-aggressive T cells in the body that cause the infiltration of the pancreas which lead to the destruction of the insulin-producing B-islet cells. Type II also known as Non-Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus is another type of diabetes mellitus that is usually caused by either inactivity, consumption of certain drugs, obesity or excess consumption of alcohol among other lifestyle habits. This disease is however common in people above the age of 30 years.

Another type of diabetes mellitus is known as Secondary diabetes mellitus. This condition develops as a result of a previous medical condition which may have caused a destruction of the pancreatic tissue that is responsible for insulin production. These medical problems may include, trauma, chronic pancreatitis not forgetting a surgical removal of the pancreas. To bring to four the list of diabetes mellitus is the Gestational diabetes. This is a problem for pregnant women which lead to both the expectant mother and the unborn child develop other forms of diabetes in future. An appropriate diet together with exercises may help to make this type of diabetes mellitus go away once the baby has been born.

The great Greek and Roman philosophers loved to debate back then, and the internet junkies love to debate today. It's a human impulse - to debate. Saying "it's a matter of opinion" doesn't help because there always has to be someone who's right and someone who's wrong. People can debate for the silliest things and for years and years, the debate can drag on without having a clear winner. But that's just the way things are. And you can't deny it, debates are really are fun and we all love it.

The start of the new millennium signaled the start of two of the greatest Shounen anime series since Dragon Ball Z - Naruto and Bleach. Both anime series have accumulated millions of fans worldwide and, as expected, to these fans, saying that both anime series are good and both worth watching is just not enough. They have to know which is better.

So,Rreally, Which is Better - Naruto or Bleach?

Naruto and Bleach have similar main characters. They're about adolescent boys who are both special, both somewhat dense but kind-hearted and gutsy, both insanely strong and can go against the strongest enemies, and both have a tendency to trash talk but still be able to give inspiring speeches. But while the main characters are similar, the plots are different. While Naruto is about ninjas, Bleach is more like an anime version of Ghost Busters. Both have their own appeal to fans. And really, it's a matter of opinion whether the fan likes ninjas or anything related to the afterlife better.

Similarities and Differences

The execution of these series' storylines also differs. Naruto spends more time developing its story and its characters than Bleach does. And while the flashbacks in Naruto can get a bit dragging for some people, especially the ones who watch for the fight scenes alone, they do leave us with more three dimensional characters and a more detailed storyline. When things happen, you know why they do because there's a background. The progression of the story is logical. Bleach, on the other hand, is one big mash of plot twists that, though entertaining, really are just good for the shock factor.

Humor-wise, both are great. Both can have you clutching your stomach and rolling on the floor in insane laughter. However, Naruto's humor is somewhat slapstick sometimes as compared to Bleach's more refined and natural humor. But then, you have to consider that the characters in Naruto are mostly kids and are younger than the characters in Bleach (not considering Shippuden).

The fight scenes in Naruto are way more interesting because it dabbles more in strategy rather than just the simple clashing of swords. However, because there's much strategy involved in Naruto's fight scenes, you also get to hear a lot of long and winding explanations in between fights and this is something that the some fans who are in for the action dislike. Bleach's fight scenes are also great and action-packed but are rather repetitive.

One edge that Bleach does have over Naruto is that its characters get a change of wardrobe every now and then. In Naruto, we see the same costume each and every day. It's as if the characters have closets-full of the same clothes.

But overall, I'd say that Naruto wins over Bleach because Naruto is much more emotionally engaging. The Naruto episodes can evoke so much emotion in you that you'll cry with the characters, laugh with them, and even go so much as to really love or really hate some of the characters. Bleach sort of had something similar in the beginning but the storyline started to deteriorate and you start to lose touch with connecting to the characters. With Naruto even with Naruto Shippuden you're still able to 'feel', connect and understand the positions for the characters, and for me, that's what makes a good anime. Not to mention that the storyline just gets better through each episode!

The identity of Naruto's father has been the subject of speculation for Naruto fans for a long time. There have been heated debates - even full-blown internet flaming wars - about the mystery that is Naruto's father.

The Fourth Hokage Theory

Most people believed that Naruto's father was the Yondaime or the Fourth Hokage. The resemblance between the Yondaime and Naruto is striking - they both have blue eyes and yellow hair and they even have the same smile. And since Naruto is an orphan and the fourth died fighting with the Kyuubi - it all made sense.

Some people even went so far as to believe that the Yondaime, though it was clearly stated that he died fighting the Kyuubi, somehow survived and lived on to become the Akatsuki leader. They believed that everything - from the sealing of the Kyuubi inside Naruto until the hunting of the Jinchuuruki by the Akatsuki - was all part of an elaborate plot concocted by the genius mind of the Fourth Hokage. They believed that what was shown about the Yondaime was just a hoax, he was actually evil despite the fact that all the people of Konoha loved him and that he was willing to die for them.

However, there were many people who disagreed with these believers of 'Yondaime is Naruto's father theory' because they couldn't understand why a father would seal something like the Kyuubi inside his own son. Some believed that it would just be 'too obvious' and that Kishimoto can't possibly write something so obvious - there has to be a twist. Some believed that the Yondaime was Naruto's uncle, or brother, or some other distant relative - just not his father.

There were even people who believed that the Akatsuki leader (who they believed was not Yondaime) was actually Naruto's father. And, for some reason, he was hunting his own son. This theory was reinforced by the fact that the Akatsuki Leader's shadow looked somewhat like he had the same hair as Naruto. And when the Akatsuki's leaders face was revealed to have a striking resemblance to Naruto too, this theory gathered more supporters. Chapter 367 is a perfect example of how the simplest answers are almost always the right ones. It turned out that the blatant was actually true and the Fourth Hokage really is Naruto's father. Jiraiya and Tsunade confirmed it all and even revealed the Yondaime's name to be Namikaze Minato.

But if the fourth is Naruto's father, then why is his name Uzumaki Naruto and not Namikaze Naruto? Where does the Uzumaki come from? It turns out that, for some reason, Naruto got his mother's surname instead of his father's. And it's not really heartless for Minato to seal Kyuubi inside Naruto since it was, after all, his dying wish that Naruto be treated as a hero for having to contend with having a monster inside him. He died believing that the villagers would love Naruto, he had no idea that they would do the opposite. This chapter has yet to be made into a Naruto episode, but it should be revealed in Naruto Shippuden pretty soon.

All my life I have heard people wish they had a money tree growing in the back yard when they were in a bad financial situation, but in reality most people do have a money tree! The money tree is their brains, and how they can use their knowledge and experiences to increase their wealth.

In an analogy I compared the money tree to an actual live growing tree, it first starts with a seedling, or in other words an idea. As with any thing that grows it needs the right soil or environment to grow, so surround your money tree with positive influences that will give it a solid foundation.

Trees need a lot of light and fresh air to grow, so give you money tree a source of fresh ideas and always keep an open mind when growing your tree. Think of your money as a real tree that is growing in your yard, think of all the environmental factors that can help your tree grow, or keep it from growing.

I planted my own money tree on the Internet and each day I nurture that tree with things it needs to continue growing. I start everyday with a little marketing here, and a little customer service there, and now my money tree is finally starting to really grow and bare fruit. The thing is that everyone has his or her own money tree in their mind, it just needs to be planted and a chance to grow.

My final thought on the money tree is that it is just like a real tree, and just like real trees there are seasons when it does not grow or it hibernates, during these seasons that’s when your money tree needs nurturing the most. Cat Stevens songs are a favorite among guitar players of all ages. It's hard to imagine a party or campfire sing along without a couple of Cat Stevens songs being played on acoustic guitar.

With songs like Father and Son, Moonshadow, Morning Has Broken, Peace Train ... in your repertoire you simply cannot go wrong.

Cat Stevens are popular for number of very important reasons: 1. the melodies are easy for the public to remember / 2. the guitar chords are not very has to play and most importantly. / 3. Cat Stevens songs sound good with a solo acoustic guitar.

In recent times, studio effects have become a part of the overall finished product. The end result is that while a particular music production may sound interesting and be visually stimulating while watching the video clip it is extremely difficult to re- create that piece of music without and enormous amount of lighting, amplification, audio effects etc.

The original role of the recording studio was to capture the event, since 1957 however in many cases the studio has tried to "create the event", by adding studio effect such as reverb, echo, distortion in an effort to make the piece of music more interesting.

The problem with this approach of trying to "create the musical audio event" is similar to watching a movie that has been created primarily to "showcase" or "showoff" the latest visual effect ... the problem is often a weak story line.

Here's three tips to help you play Cat Stevens songs:

Tip 1. Learn to recognize musical intervals

Musical intervals measure the distance from on note to the next, just as a builder must have a system of measurement to measure the length, width and height of their building materials a musician must be able to recognize the "sound" of an interval.

Listen to the introduction of "Peace Train" for a good example of the interval of a sixth. On the first hearing it may appear that only one single note is being played, subsequent listening sessions will reveal that a harmony note is being played also.

When you listen to "Peace Train" the first notes you will hear are: C - D - E - E - D - C , these notes are played on the second string of the guitar, a second note is played beneath each of these melody notes.

The harmony notes; E - F - G - G - F - E are played on the forth string. It's a good idea to play the introduction with you right hand fingers (for right handed players).

If we measure the distance from the low harmony note (E) played on the fourth string to the melody note (C) played on the second string we will discover the distance is six E=1, F=2, G=3, A=4, B=5, C=6, hence the naming of the musical interval.

Tip 2. Understand how relative minor chords function

Each major chord has an related minor chord that represents the opposite musical effect, for example if we say that the major chord represents = bright then it's relative minor chord would represent= dark.

Further examples:

major chord = happy / minor chord = sad // major chord = male / minor chord = female.

Musical examples: C major = A minor / G major = E minor / D major = B minor / A major = F# minor / E major = C# minor etc

Cat Stevens often substitutes the relative minor chord in place of the major to develop his musical story. Listen to "Father and Son" notice how he changes the second chord in each verse.

Verse 1: G to D/F# verse 2: G to Bm (relative minor to D major) verse 3: G to D major.

Tip 3. Learn to read music standard music notation

Although many artists do not read music if you wish to play a variety of music being able to read standard music will help to research and understand where many of the popular artists get some of the material from.

For example, Cat Stevens popular hit "Morning Has Broken" was originally a traditional Gaelic melody by Mary MacDonald written in 1880.When it was translated into English by Lachlan Macbean in the 1888 book "Songs and Hymns of the Gael", the translator gave the melody the name "Bunessan".

Cat Stevens understands that a song is a 3 minute story and Cat knows how to tell that story.

Every society breeds some people who will resort to bullets when they think their desire for greed or power is threatened. Some of these threats to the heroes of society occur when power grabbers cannot verbally compete with words and logic.

This sickness can inflict any society in the world. For example, in France, young Joan of Arc was torched to death at the age of 19 by members of the clergy who did not like her claims that he she heard from God. Germans murdered young Sophie Scholl at the age of age 21 for distributing Anti-Nazi materials. Polish native Rosa Luxemburg was knocked unconscious, shot in the head, and dumped in a river because a group of thugs did not like the literature that she was distributing. .

In her interesting book, Legends, Leaders, Legacies, author Susan Vollmer presents a sampling of various societies that became fatal for those who wanted to help protect the rights of others. There are 18 mini-biographies that reflect the inevitable dangers that exist in every society to those who might attempt to help others.

Most of the victims in the book were ordinary people with ordinary problems. Jose Rizal had a Filipino mother who was imprisoned because her family did not have any food for the horse of a foreign invading soldier. Soon later, Jose himself was prevented from getting married because he would not agree to retract various statements that he previously made. He was later executed at age 35 for participating in a revolution that he never supported, even though this alleged incident took place while he was exiled for writing a book that some did not like. British Nurse Edith Cavell was only interested in helping people in need. She was arrested and executed at age 49 by the Germans.

Some of the stories illuminate one of the ugliest traits that can exist in man. It's sad to watch the betrayal of heroes after they successfully sacrificed their safety by facing death defying situations. For example, a Saudi Prince was murdered by his own nephew. A heroic leader was killed by military decoys in his own parade. An Indian head of state was killed by one of her guards while giving a TV interview. And a brave fighter, who had successfully fought the Taliban, was murdered during a broadcast interview by decoy reporters who turned to be out to be traitors. Bringing this down to personal terms, it becomes obvious how vulnerable we are because a well-trusted person can betray us and destroy our lives at any moment.

This book is easy to read, interesting, and informative. It reminds its' readers about the reality of human nature. Money, power, and other temptations that lead to greed become motivations to inflict damage on anyone who might threaten it.

After reading this book, it will be difficult to take freedom for granted. That's why it is required reading for everyone who loves his country.

Thank you for this interview, Ms. Daily. Can you tell us if your expertise in dating wisdom helped in writing your new book, Fifteen Minutes of Shame?

Thank you for having me! My experience as a TV dating expert definitely helped me in writing Fifteen Minutes of Shame. The main character, Darby Vaughn is a TV dating expert who finds out her husband is cheating, live on national television. The week before my dating advice book, Stop Getting Dumped! was first published, a very prominent dating expert was going through a very public divorce, and she was really taking a lot of heat in the media. At the time, my husband and I had just been married a few years -- I remember thinking how awful it would be to go through one of the most difficult times in your life with the entire world watching -- and the idea for Fifteen Minutes of Shame was born.

As I was developing the story, a lot of the funniest scenes deal with the world of television -- the disparity between how something (and some people) look on TV, versus in real life, has always been hilarious to me.

How long have you been helping others with relationship problems? When did you first start and where did you publish your first relationship column?

I wrote my dating advice book, Stop Getting Dumped!, in 2002, and started writing my column at the same time. The column developed into regular TV and radio appearances, and I've done the weekly segment on the DAYTIME show for just over two years.

Your book is chick lit/humorous women´s fiction. Did you find it hard getting an acceptance with a major publisher for a genre that critics claim is dying? Do you still see a market for it?

I think there will always be a market for good, smart, funny women's fiction. Other humorous women's fiction authors, like Jennifer Weiner and Sophie Kinsella will continue to sell their wonderful books, whether they're called chick lit or women's fiction or something else. I feel fortunate, I didn't have any trouble getting acceptance for Fifteen Minutes of Shame -- we sold it to the same house (Plume/Penguin) that published my non-fiction book. They loved the story, and bought it on nine chapters and a proposal.

That said, I do think the market is tightening a bit. When chick lit became popular, publishers flooded the bookstores with chick lit, and in some cases, contemporary romances dressed like chick lit. There was more supply than demand, and now we're seeing the publishers and the marketplace adjust.

Your first dating advice book, Stop Getting Dumped!, became an overnight sensation and a bestseller. In what ways did you become a part of making that happen? In other words, what kind of promotions did you do on your own or did you rely mainly on your promotion team at Penguin?

I was fortunate to have a great team at Plume/Penguin -- Trena Keating was my genius editor in chief (and also the person who encouraged me to write Fifteen Minutes of Shame) and my publicist, Sarah Melnyk, was really enthusiastic. That said, I took on the responsibility of directing the marketing efforts for Stop Getting Dumped! -- every publisher has limited time and resources for any given book, and while I was grateful for any and all support Plume provided, I knew it was my responsibility to get the book off the ground.

I did a lot of online marketing with dating sites, I wrote articles, I pitched the media incessantly, I left postcards in NYC taxis, and spoke to any group who would listen.

Can you tell us more about your Dream Girl Academy?

After Stop Getting Dumped! became a bestseller, I received so many letters from women across the country asking if I taught a class or a seminar to teach women some of the methods in the book -- I began teaching the class at Open U in Minneapolis and The Learning Annex in New York City - a sort of dating finishing school for fun, fabulous chicks. Eventually, I was teaching the class as far away as London, and was surprised by how popular they became. Women would bring their girlfriends and their mothers, and it was this amazing, supportive, fun, feminine environment. A lot of times, I´d end up staying after the class and talking to the women for hours. As soon as we posted information on the web that I´d be doing a 20-city tour for FIFTEEN MINUTES OF SHAME, we started getting requests from readers -- so I´ll be doing Dreamgirl Academy events all across the country in March and April.

You are a speaker and popular media guest, appearing on more than 2000 top radio and television shows. That's an amazing amount of appearances. Can you tell us which one of those shows stood out as your most memorable and would you like to tell us about it?

I really love doing interviews, and I've been fortunate to meet a lot of interesting people that way. I think the most memorable was when I did a little talk show called SOAP TALK (which I'd never heard of before they booked me), and sat next to Rick Springfield in the makeup room. I'd had a HUGE crush on him when I was a teenager, and it was completely surreal to sit next to him. We chatted for a bit, and he was very nice. Then, he went on for his segment and sang JESSE´S GIRL, and I stood there swooning with a few of the producers on the side stage.

Your book, Fifteen Minutes of Shame, is about a relationship advice columnist much like yourself. Do you see a little bit of yourself in your main character?

Darby is a lot like me --although, to the best of my knowledge, my husband is not planning to dump me on national television. Darby has a real desire to help other women find love, funny things are always happening to her, and we're both madly in love with men who have sparkly green eyes.

Darby, like me, tends to think her way through difficult emotional situations, and because she's so rational, seems so pulled together, people think she's fine, even when she's not.

Aside from that, Darby and I both have the same perspective on dating and love -- each chapter begins with dating advice from Darby, which is the same advice I would give as a real-life relationships expert.

What does your book have that people are going to say, "I need a copy of that book!"

It's margarita-out-your-nose-funny, and it will make you want to be braver in love.

What plans do you have for the future?

I'm working on a new dating advice book, out January 2009 called HOW TO DATE A GROWN-UP, and a new novel, titled THE TRUTH ABOUT GOSSIP, which should be out sometime in 2009 as well.

· Have you read and re-read your Keepers so many times that the pages are all dog-eared and some are even stuck together with coffee stains?

Relieving Your Debt With Free Blogs!

The internet is a huge, vast sea of many struggling small fish and a few happy big fish. Those who know how to generate a positive income through the internet are the big fish, while the rest of us struggling are the small fish, guppies. Up until a few months ago, I was clueless as to how to make money on the internet. This didn't work for me because I personally have expensive tastes and at the time I was unemployed so I wanted to find out what the internet hype was all about.

So I went about learning about Affiliate Marketing, Joint Venturing, even Article Marketing(!), and I came across an AdSense tutorial.

And then it hit me like a ton of bricks!!!

What if I just put up a blog, which is free to setup and host, and put AdSense ads on the blog so that whenever someone comes to my blog and clicks a link, I get paid!

That way, anytime I generate FREE traffic to my site, I stand the potential of making a few cents to a few dollars per click. When the advertising is free, that is 100% profit.

I could also advertise on AdWords for cheap keywords and hope that I break even or profit in the long run.

In the past 4 days I've generated a profit of about $36 on AdSense, using AdWords to promote it. So far so good!

And the BEST part about this is that the reader, YOU(!), can do everything I have done in a matter of minutes. The only hard part is promoting your blogs and keeping them brimming with fresh content!
